As mentioned before bike shops will sell you a Power Commander to "improve performance" or a TRE to "get rid of top en limiters" but its not the best way of doing it. You may ask why do we say so. Let me explain :
Power Commander :
- Fueling can be adjusted on 4 injectors - some newer Power commanders support 8 injectors
- Timing curve can not be changed
- Oxygen sensor is bypassed
- Bike is tuned in only one gear (usually gear 4)
TRE :
- A plug in installed which makes the bike believe its still in gear 4 and it therefore can go faster but the enhanced timing curve for gears 5/6 is not used, sometime it will show that you are in gear 4 when actually in Gear 5/6
Hooligan Racing Tuned :
We reprogram the factory ECU/CDI directly and the advantage of this is :
- All injectors can be adjusted
- Timing can be adjusted in every gear
- Top en limiters are removed inside the ECU
- STP's are fully opened
